When does Verdansk return to Warzone? Release date confirmed plus leaks of changes

After years of speculation, Warzone’s very first map, Verdansk, is coming back.
Verdansk was the original map in the Call of Duty battle royale and quickly became incredibly popular, but in December 2021, 18 months after the game launched, Verdansk was removed and replaced by Caldera, which never quite lived up to its predecessor despite growing calls for a new map.
Ever since, Verdansk has been requested by players wanting to revisit their old haunts and their favorite drops. Still, it always seemed an impossibility – unless you want to play Warzone Mobile, where Verdansk is a playable map. However, a light at the end of the tunnel is now finally in sight.

On March 10 – the fifth anniversary of Warzone’s release – Activision made the announcement that Verdansk will return on April 3.

Will it be the same as the original Verdansk?
It is unclear at the time of writing what exactly Verdansk will look like when it returns in 2025, but leaker GhostofHope has shed some more light.
Article continues after adAccording to the leaker, it’ll be “pretty much” the version that arrived in March 2020, but with a couple of key differences – the train returns, and while the Stadium’s interior will be accessible, the roof remains closed. CharlieIntel has heard that content creators have playtested a version of Verdansk with the interior open but the roof closed.

The Stadium interior couldn’t be accessed until August 2020’s Modern Warfare Season 5 update when the roof was blown off and the doors opened. If the leak is true, the doors will be open but the roof will remain shut.

– Will launch with Season 3 of BO6
– It is pretty much the OG March 2020 version
– Train Station interior will be closed
– Interior of Stadium will be open BUT roof will be closed
– The Train returns
– No fast travel subway system pic.twitter.com/69aAy79RLS
While the fast travel subway system reportedly won’t return, Hope said there are “currently plans for Red Doors to return on Verdansk in a future Warzone season.” So, while they probably won’t be there on April 3, they should come back down the line.

Resurgence leaked
According to dataminer Reality, who has a great track record, Resurgence is coming to Verdansk when it returns.
Resurgence Mini brought Resurgence to Verdansk for a few days back in June 2021, but it was never a permanent mode.

Leaks from TheGhostOfHope and CharlieIntel point towards fan-favorite Modern Warfare weapons returning alongside Verdansk.
While CharlieIntel’s sources could confirm the Grau 5.56and HDR, Hope said to take the CR-56 AMAXandKilo 5.56with a grain of salt.
The Grau and HDR weapons are potentially returning to Call of Duty: Warzone with Verdansk, per sources.

Data-miners have also found references to the original Roze Operator potentially returning as well. pic.twitter.com/eXXHJ8xkl2
Not only that, but the controversial Roze Operator has been found in the game files. Almost everyone used this Battle Pass skin because the black outfit almost perfectly blended in with the dark corners. Looting should also be easier as floating loot is set to return.
